Best Published Paper Award New Committee Members

As 2018 comes to a close, AESOP would like to express its sincere thanks to three outgoing members of the Best Published Paper Award Committee for their dedication and service: Karina Pallagst (outgoing chair, University of Kaiserslautern, Germany); Umberto Janin Rivolin (Politecnico di Torino, Italy); and Roelof Verhage ( (University Lumiere Lyon II, France).

AESOP would like to warmly welcome three new members to the Best Published Paper Award Committee: Lauren Andres (University of Birmingham, UK); Anna Hersperger (Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, Switzerland); and Mark Scott (University College Dublin, Ireland). All three new committee members join the committee in 2019.

The new committee members will work alongside Dominic Stead (committee chair, Delft University of Technology, Netherlands), Garri Raagmaa (University of Tartu, Estonia) and Mohamed Saleh (YAN Representative, University of Groningen, Netherlands).

The selected candidate will contribute to teaching in urban design at Master level, in Dutch and English programmes. The teaching is situated in the domain of urban design, focusing primarily on design studio teaching for a mixed group of international students in the fields of Urban Design, Spatial Planning and Urban Studies. The selected candidate is expected to develop her/his own design studio assignment within a domain relevant for urban design (participatory planning, mapping and survey focused planning, mobility and public space, urban metabolism, sustainability transitions, innovative housing solutions or other relevant topics). The teaching assignment might include teaching evening and weekend courses. The selected candidate will also partner in new curricula development in collaboration with existing programmes.
