AESOP Heads of Schools Meeting is an annual forum for planning education. We are happy to welcome delegates from our member schools, whether they are heads of the schools or any key persons designated by the schools, to discuss main problems and challenges for planning education across Europe. We would be delighted if delegates from the schools which are not AESOP members yet joined us and shared their experience and knowledge.

26 February 2013 : New AESOP Officials

AESOP Council of Representatives has approved new Officials:

Professor Lia Maldonado Teles de Vasconcelos (University New Lisbon) is a new chair of the AESOP Excellence in Teaching Award Committee.

Professor Karina Pallagst (University of Kaiserlautern) is a new chair of the AESOP Best Published Paper Award Committee.

26 February 2013 : AESOP - ECTP-CEU - IFHP - ISOCARP European Urban Summer School

AESOP Council of Representatives has approved hosts for AESOP - ECTP-CEU - IFHP - ISOCARP European Urban Summer Schools.

The host for EUSS 2013 is San Pablo CEU University in Madrid

The host for EUSS 2014 is University of Tours.

European Urban Summer School is our joint project within the framework of Decade of Planning.

METREX, the Network of Metropolitan Regions and Areas, was founded at the Glasgow Metropolitan Regions Conference in 1996.  It has now grown to include over 50 of Europe's major city-regions.

23 January 2013 : Report from Lecture 4 Peter Hall 'Squaring the Circle: How to Reconcile Apparently Impossible Contradictions in Contemporary Urban Policy'

This was the fourth event in the Lecture Series by well-known planners, policy-makers and other ‘urban thinkers’, which is being organised by AESOP and IFHP in the framework of respectively the Silver Jubilee (2012) and Centenary (2013). The lecturers have been asked to present their ideas on ‘new vision’ for planning and territorial development. The lecture will be rounded off with a question and answer discussion with the audience.

Professor Sir Peter Hall is a leading British academic, author, advisor and consultant on a whole range of urban development and planning issues and Chair of Planning at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Planning, UCL, Director of the Institute of Community Studies and President of the TCPA.
