We invite you to submit an abstract for a contribution to the interdisciplinary conference and workshop "BECOMING LOCAL: Transforming spaces, redefining localities", which will take place from 23 to 25 October 2014 in Paris, France.
The event is organized by the Laboratoire Architecture Anthropologie (LAA) and the AESOP Thematic Group “Public Spaces and Urban Cultures” and is dealing with the conflicts arising between the local and global scale in contemporary urban transformations. Submissions are encouraged from all disciplines and research perspectives. We are in particular interested in papers that through the lens of case-studies explore, discuss and question the various notions and categories used to describe local identities, as well as disputes and misunderstandings that their use might generate or reinforce.The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, 7 July 2014.
